The Journalism course for Sixth-Formers at Up To Speed is offered to people who would like to try their hand at a number of different types of journalism.
In a week at our Journalism Training Centre you will learn some of the practical skills you need to work as a reporter in print, broadcast and online.
On the journalism course you:

  1. shoot and edit a video news report
  2. record and edit a podcast
  3. write news reports
  4. review a play, a film, or a sports event
  5. write features including a travel piece
  6. build a website to showcase your work

The course is taught by professional journalists. You will take part in seminars and writing workshops and work on practical assignments in our newsroom.

27th to 31st July 2009 - FULLY BOOKED!

Time:
         Monday 10am to Friday 3pm

Venue: Up To Speed’s Journalism Training Centre, Daily Echo, Richmond Hill, Bournemouth.

Accommodation: Five nights with a host family is included in the price. Details of local hotels and guest houses are also available on request.

Price: £300 including accommodation or £200 excluding accommodation.

Terms: Fees are payable at the time of booking for a specific date. Each course must have a minimum of four students.

Minimum age: 17.
