On November 4, 2023, Aaron Harper, a 42-year-old American professional basketball player, tragically lost his life in a car crash in Mississippi. He was well-known for his time as a basketball player in France.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a terrible accident on US 278 in Lafayette County around 12:58 a.m. It involved a 2006 Toyota Avalon driven by Aaron S. Harper from Jackson, Mississippi. The car went off the road and flipped over several times. Sadly, Harper didn’t survive the crash, and the authorities are still investigating the accident. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time. They are also looking into whether alcohol played a role.

This sad news has deeply affected the sports community and all its supporters. Aaron was a professional basketball player who played different positions, mainly small forward and shooting guard. He graduated in basketball from Ole Miss.

Aaron’s sudden passing has left his family and community in sorrow. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire community during this difficult time. His funeral and burial arrangements are not known yet. Prayers for him; Rest in peace, Aaron.

About Aaron Harper:

Aaron Harper was born on March 12, 1981. He was a talented American professional basketball player who played in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP) for the Huracanes de Tampico. He mostly played as a swingman, showing his skills as a shooting guard and small forward.

Aaron’s basketball journey began at Ole Miss, where he was a student-athlete from 2000 to 2004. In his final year, he averaged an impressive 16.5 points per game, making him the top scorer for the school.

In December 2004, Harper joined the Örvalsdeild karla club KR and debuted in January 2005. His presence significantly improved the team’s performance. Harper’s efforts helped KR win 7 out of their last 11 games, securing a spot in the playoffs.

One memorable moment was in the playoffs when KR faced Snaefell. Harper played a crucial role in their comeback from a 14-point deficit in the first game and sealed their thrilling 91-89 victory with a game-winning three-pointer. Despite Harper’s outstanding 35-point performance, Snaefell won the series 116-105. Aaron Harper’s time with KR marked a pivotal period in his basketball career, showcasing his ability to make a difference for his team and create unforgettable moments on the court.
