Four teenagers passed away following a road accident in Guyana on Saturday night, August 26, 2023; after 1 AM, the fatal accident happened on Resource Public Road, Canal #2 Polder, West Bank Demerara.
A vehicle carrying four youths on the West Bank Demerara Public Road smashed into a parked truck before hitting a barrier.
Daveanand Singh, 17, of Providence, EBD; Ameisha Jaikarran, 19, of La Grange Old Road, WBD; Deviane Narine, 18, of Kitty, Georgetown, and Daniel Tribani, 19, of La Grange, WBD, have been named as the individuals who passed away.

According to police reports, The 17-year-old driver, Daveanand Singh, of the motorcar PAE 5773, at a high rate of speed carrying the teens, apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of a motor truck that was parked on the northern parapet facing East while the vehicle was travelling East along the northern side of the access road.
As a result of the collision, Singh further collided with a concrete fence north of the public road. Two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the driver and another occupant were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital in an unconscious condition, where they died while receiving medical attention.
The bodies are lying at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting PME. Further investigations are progressing.
Guyana Standard posted the victim’s pictures with an official statement on Facebook:
“Tragically, four kids perished in separate accidents that happened hours apart. The following people were killed:
1) Daveanand Singh, age 17, of Lot 1566 Providence in East Bank Demerara (EBD); 2) Ameisha Jaikarran, age 19, of La Grange Old Road in West Bank Demerara (WBD);
3) Deviane Narine, age 18, of Kitty in Georgetown; 4) Daniel Tribani, age 19, of La Grange in West Bank Demerara. The collision happened on Saturday on Unity Public Road in East Coast Demerara.”
Four human lives were lost in this accident. We should always keep this idol that we should always follow the rules and take care of the lives of others and ourselves—prayers for them. Rest in Peace, too. May they all get Peace hereafter.
