Who was Bishop Sedgwick Daniels?
Bishop and Pastor Sedgwick Daniels was born to John and Kathleen Daniels on August 16, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the Bishop of the first Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ. Before becoming a Bishop, he served his community as Milwaukee Plan Commissioner and first Antonio Riley and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority on many projects involving the development of housing complexes for seniors and Milwaukee home ownership.
He was appointed as Bishop in 2001 by Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson and the Church of God in Christ General Board. His jurisdiction included over 105 Institutional Church God churches in Wisconsin and northern Illinois. His dedication and devotion as Bishop helped the Holy Redeemer COGIC become a multi-million dollar establishment that addressed the Milwaukee community’s educational and social service needs. Bishop Daniels strived to provide opportunities for youth to be successful. Under his leadership, the Church established several educational institutions, including Holy Redeemer Christian Academy, Young Coggs Williams Preparatory Academy, Katherine T Daniels University Preparatory Academy, Trained Pulpit, and Trained Pew Initiative.
