Bonda Mani Tamil Film Actor and Comedian Died of Illness at 60

Renowned Tamil comedian Bonda Mani passed away on December 23 at the age of 60 in Chennai, succumbing to kidney-related ailments after battling health issues for an extended period.

The beloved actor, known for his unique expressions and impeccable dialogue delivery, had gained fame through his outstanding performances in over 250 films, including hits like Sundara Travels, Winner, and Aaru. The unfortunate incident occurred when Mani collapsed at his residence in Pozhichalur on December 23.

He was immediately rushed to the government hospital in Chrompet after fainting. Despite medical efforts, the doctors declared him dead after a thorough examination. His body is currently placed at his residence in Pozhichalur for people to pay their last respects, with the final rites scheduled at a crematorium in Chrompet around 5 PM.

He was survived by his wife Malathi, a son, and a daughter, Bonda Mani’s family expressed the financial strain caused by his demise, noting that he was the sole breadwinner. They appealed for support from the government and the Actor’s union in a video clip that quickly went viral on social media.

Earlier in 2022, actors Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi generously donated Rs 1 lakh each towards Bonda Mani’s medical treatment. Vadivelu, a longtime collaborator and friend, also extended financial assistance for his healthcare.

Bonda Mani’s contributions to the Tamil film industry were significant, especially in collaboration with Vadivelu on numerous comedy tracks. His popularity and memorable performances had garnered support from fellow actors, highlighting the close-knit nature of the film fraternity.
