Brandon Hudson, a Fire Captain of Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters Died Unexpectedly

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Hamilton Fire Department lost one of its own, Fire Captain Brandon Hudson, in a sudden and tragic event.

Brandon Hudson, a dedicated Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters and IAFF Local 20 member, passed away, leaving his colleagues and the fire community in deep sorrow. The cause of his sudden demise remains unknown.

Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 20 announced the news of Captain Hudson’s passing through a Facebook post, stating, “We are saddened to report the tragic loss of Hamilton Fire Captain Brandon Hudson. We ask that everyone keep the Hudson family, Hamilton Firefighters, and our fire community in your thoughts and prayers.”

Captain Brandon Hudson was a remarkable fireman and an outstanding individual and educator. He demonstrated exceptional qualities as a Fire Captain, leading his squad with empathy and wisdom. His quick thinking and technical expertise were invaluable to the Hamilton Fire Department.

As an instructor, Captain Hudson blended academic knowledge with practical experience to educate and train future firefighters. His passion for extinguishing flames inspired many to acquire essential firefighting skills.

Beyond his operational duties, Captain Hudson was known as an enthusiastic and effective teacher who impacted the next generation of firefighters. His teaching method, combining academic knowledge, genuine enthusiasm, and practical experience, profoundly affected those he guided.

Social media have been poured with prayers and tributes. Adam Roe, one of Hudson’s friends, also paid tribute to the news of his demise with a heart-touching post. 

The loss of Captain Brandon Hudson has deeply affected the community, and condolences pour in for his family and the entire firefighting community. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone mourning his departure. May he rest in peace.
