Bruce Guthro, the former lead vocalist of the Scottish rock band Runrig, has passed away at 62 years old; according to one of his former bandmates, Guthro revealed two months ago that he was battling a terrible disease.
However, further circumstances related to his death are unknown. His death news was released through social media on September 6, 2023. Guthro’s bandmate Pete Wishart announced his death on his Twitter account and stated:
“I was shocked to learn of my friend and old bandmate Bruce Guthro’s tragic passing. It was a pleasure to perform with him since he was the kindest guy you could ever wish to meet. A superb performer, musician, and songwriter who was tragically gone too soon. He will be missed by us. RIP.”

Guthro turned 62 years old on August 31, 2023. Bruce Guthro was one of Cape Breton’s most well-known artists in Canada and spent over 40 years in the field.
