Chris Peluso, a Broadway performer, tragically passed away at 38. He announced dead on August 16, 2023.
According to the media reports, he died due to schizoaffective disease, but his family does not reveal the actual death cause.
Linda Goodrich, the interim chair of the University of Michigan’s musical theatre department, released his death news without mentioning the actual cause and posted a tribute on the theatre’s official Instagram account.
“The compassionate, charming, and wonderfully endowed Chris Peluso passed away. The Michigan Musical Theatre family is heartbroken as we announce the passing of our dear family member/alum.”

“I hope this raises some awareness about how so many people experience mental illness in silence. You can never tell what someone is dealing with. In the fundraiser’s description, he urged people to be polite to one another.”

Chris pursued acting studies At the University of Michigan‘s musical theatre program. He played the lead parts in the Broadway productions of Assassins and Lestat.
He made his Broadway debut almost two decades ago when he played the lead role in the Tony-winning revival of the timeless musical Assassins by Stephen Sondheim.
According to Broadway World, Chris has appeared in various other plays, including Lestat, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Sky in Mamma Mia!
Chris performed in Show Boat and Miss Saigon in addition to the period on Broadway. Additionally, he played Fiyero in the Wicked touring production.
