Essex-based racing driver Dan Kirby died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He was a renowned racing driver and businessman who lived in Chelmsford, Essex. He raced on the Power Maxed Racing team and ranked 3rd. His unexpected death has shocked the Chelmsford community and his fans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Who was Dan Kirby?

Dan Kirby was a British racing driver who has participated in many racing championships on several teams. He started his racing career with the English BMW Compact Cup Championship in 2014.
He has raced in several different championships since then. In 2017, he raced on Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup-Am and ranked 6th with 348 points in 23 races. He started his touring car racing career in the 2020 Dunlop Turing Car Trophy and ranked 5th with 43 points in four races.

His most notable races were in 2021, where he raced on the Power Maxed Racing team in the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy and ranked 3rd with 225 points in 14 races.

Dan was a proud founder of the Trade Price Cars Racing team, an outgrowth of his business, which stems from Trade Price Cars, a multi-award winning car sales business also owned by Dan Kirby.
His racing team competed on Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Seasons with 2 Audi S3’s driven by Jake Hill, former F1 and Lemans Winner Mark Blundell in 2019, and Bobby Thompson and James Gornall in 2020.

He was a successful businessman and owned many businesses, including ‘Trade Price Cars’, ‘Octane Finance’ and ‘We Finance Any Car’. He was a renowned name in the motorsport world and a dedicated and loving husband and father. He was married to Bethany Kirby and had two beautiful daughters. He was a well-respected individual in motorsport and loved by his friends and colleagues.

What happened to Dan Kirby?
