Willie Perry Jr, a renowned American DJ and songwriter known as DJ Casper, famous for being the founder of ‘Cha Cha Slide,’ died on August 07, 2023, in Chicago, United States.
He passed away at the age of 58. Casper has been suffering from a terrible disorder, cancer, since 2016 and died due to the disease.
Casper’s wife, Kim Perry, released his death news on social media. Funeral services have not been released publicly.
Social media sites had been overwhelmed with condolences; nearly everyone posted about him and praised his musical achievements.

Cause of Death:
Casper had been battling the most horrible disease, cancer, for seven years. He was taking treatment to get a cure for it.
He started chemotherapy the next month after an unsuccessful surgery, but unfortunately, he died after many efforts and treatments.
Casper was infected with two cancers, a kidney cancer that badly effects his kidney, and the other one was uncommon cancer known as a neuroendocrine tumor that begins in specific cells in your neuroendocrine system.
Casper reported in an ABC7 interview about his health problems in May, 2023. He claimed he was living a happy life and taking each moment as it came.
He admitted during the interview that he had kidney and neuroendocrine carcinoma cancer. He said that although he was scheduled for surgery, it had to be postponed because of the kidney’s connection to the major artery.
Casper’s medical issues caused him to lose weight; at the time of the ABC7 interview, he weighed 60 pounds less. He declared that he still wouldn’t give up his job and would do it for the rest of his life.
Casper also stated in the interview with the cancer survivors: “Anyone who’s suffering through cancer, know that you got cancer, and cancer doesn’t have you. Thus, continue performing the “Cha Cha Slide.”

He was born and raised in Chicago and was known as “Casper” because he often appeared on stage wearing entirely pure white. He became well-known for his albums and songs.
Casper had an interest in singing and songwriter. He began his career at a young age, but he officially became famous in 1998 when he wrote “Casper Slide Pt. 1,” also called “Cha Cha Slide.”
He created the song for his nephew, who was employed as a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness. Casper wrote “Casper Slide Pt. 2” in 2000, which Elroy Smith at Chicago’s radio station, WGCI-FM.
The line dance and the song went viral, dominating the UK Singles chart, after the song gained popularity as an aerobic activity at fitness centers and PE in schools. Casper released another album, “Oops Upside Your Head,” 2004.
