Inga Dyer, a Howard University School of Law alumna, passed away after a year-long battle with cancer.
Inga Dyer, a highly respected entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles, California, has tragically passed away after bravely battling cancer for seven years. She was one of the most sought-after entertainment lawyers who was known for her contribution to the profession. She was an esteemed Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Black Entertainment Sports Lawyers member.
What happened to Inga Dyer?
Inga Dyer was diagnosed with breast cancer over seven years ago. She fiercely battled with the disease ever since. Her determination and courage in the face of adversity serve as an inspiration to generations to come. She underwent treatments and fought hard for her life.
Unfortunately, her cancer metastasized and made it impossible for her to continue to work. She ultimately lost her battle with the deadly disease and passed away, leaving family and friends aggrieved and the community reeling with sadness. The courage and resilience she demonstrated till her last breath will inspire generations to come.
Her tragic passing has carved a hole into the fabric of the entertainment law community, which can never be filled. Her legacy will live on in the contributions she made to the industry, and her unwavering resilience will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to know her.
Who was Inga Dyer?
Inga Dyer was a highly sought-after entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles, California. She had over thirty years of experience in her field and was one of the most trusted lawyers in Hollywood.
She was named Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyer Association. She garnered success in business and legal affairs with over two decades of experience. She was entrusted with overseeing the business affairs, structuring and negotiating rights, developing talent, production, and financing deals.
Inga earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Howard University and her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. She has graced several organizations with her intelligence and dedication as General Counselor for REVOLT Media & TV and has served in various business and legal affairs roles at BET Networks, Spike TV, and Magic Johnson Enterprises.
Inga was a member of the California Bar, the Beverly Hill County Bar Association, a Board Member of The Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA), and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. At Howard University, she started a group, Campus Pals, dedicated to helping a new student find their housing and get settled into campus life. Despite her many achievements, she was the most proud of her children, whom she loved with all her heart.
