Actor John Okafor, better known by his stage as Mr. Ibu is from Nigeria and is doing well after completing two successful surgeries. On October 25, 2023, his adopted daughter shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday morning.

Mr. Ibu has previously requested financial support for his medical requirements on social media. He required immediate surgery once it was determined that he had a severe ailment. His supporters and coworkers came together to provide him with the required money.
Mr. Ibu’s daughter praised him for his incredible fortitude despite his medical difficulties. She stated he was still able to have a sense of humor even after two major surgeries. She hopes he will recover and escape this predicament more substantially and in better condition.
His daughter wrote in a post, “I’ve never seen someone that powerful. Even at your lowest, you continued to crack jokes and attempt to be witty despite having undergone two major surgeries. If there is a God in heaven, I swear to you that you will rise from this bed feeling more powerful and vibrant. I’m ecstatic because this is the strongest I’ve seen you in three weeks! Sweet Papa, fight this and get well soon.”
Fans and coworkers of Mr. Ibu are wishing him a complete and quick recovery. Our prayers and wishes go out to him and his family; may he recover quickly. Get Well Soon, Mr. Ibu.
About Mr. Ibu
Nigerian actor and comedian John Ikechukwu Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu. He was born on October 17, 1961, and belonged to Enugu State, namely Nkanu West L.G.A.
Following the death of his father in 1974, Okafor relocated to Sapele to live with his brother after finishing elementary school. He worked odd jobs in Sapele to pay for his family’s support and education.
After that, he pursued careers as a hairstylist, a photographer, and a crate manufacturer. He was accepted to the Yola College of Education after completing high school, but he withdrew owing to financial issues.
Later, as soon as he could afford it, he enrolled in the Institute of Management and Technology (I.M.T.), Enugu. He has acted in over 200 Nollywood productions, such as Police Recruit (2003), Mr. Ibu in London (2004), Mr. Ibu and His Son, Coffin Producers, Husband Suppliers, International Players, Mr. Ibu in Prison (2006), and Keziah (2007).
Mr. Ibu dabbled in music as well. He performed music for a brief while. He released the singles “This Girl” and “Do You Know” on October 15, 2020. However, he had spent a great time in the industry and is now battling with his health issues.
