Alec Ward, a student-athlete and Bloomfield Hills High School resident, died in a tragic accident.
Alec Ward, a student-athlete at Central Michigan University and Bloomfield Hills High School alumnus, died in a vehicle accident on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He played football at Central Michigan Chippewas team as a Wide Receiver. He was a dedicated student-athlete loved by all the Mount Pleasant, East Lansing, Michigan. His sudden, unexpected death has cast a sombre cloud over the community.
Who was Alec Ward?
Alec Ward was a resident of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He was a student-athlete and played on the varsity team as a sophomore and wide receiver. He played in four games and saw action on offence on almost 24 plays on special teams, returning three punts for one yard with a long of two on year.
He also played at the season finale at Ester Michigan against Western Michigan, Buffalo, and Bowling Green. He played football for Bloomfield Hills High School and was a three-year varsity letter winner. He also made a playoff appearance with the Black Hawks.
By the end of his school career, Alec had garnered impressive statistics with 156 receptions for 2,876 yards and 34 touchdowns. He held the BHHS records for receiving yards in a season and career. Alec also played Baseball for Coach Dan Loeia.
He was a skilled athlete and an integral part of the community. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. He always had a smile on his face. His peers describe him as a good friend and great teammate. Sadly, he was stolen away by grim clenches of death far too soon, leaving the community grappling with profound grief.
