Who was Andrew Ellis?

Andrew Ellis was a talented music artist from Toledo, Ohio. He was a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumental musician who played punk rock, folk hill country blues, and classic country music, suitable for all events and festivals.

He garnered popularity and appreciation worldwide and toured in the United States with over 240 shows per year. He had completed his fourth European tour that covered thirteen countries. His social media bio read, “I’m not trying to save the world, I’m just writing the soundtrack.”

Andrew’s grandfather, Merrill Ellis, was a music professor at the University of North Texas. He is his greatest inspiration. Andrew spoke with a local magazine and opened up about his troubled youth and his struggles with alcohol addiction, which nearly claimed his life several times. He turned his challenges into opportunities and incorporated them into touching lyrics which resonated with his audience.

He credited his success to his family, especially his wife, Marry Ellis, who is also his manager and handles his touring and booking, and his children, whom he considers his life’s greatest gifts. He was a loving husband and a good father.

Sadly, his life was cut short, and he passed away well before his time. His family has established a GoFundMe page to raise funds for unexpected expenses.
