Ashley Sheppard, a 35-year-old New York resident, died after losing a battle with deadly gastric cancer on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The mother of one worked at Rosamond Gifford Zoo in New York. The establishment released a statement regarding the tragic death of its cherished member in a post on social media that said,

We will miss Ashley more than words can express. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.” Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

Who was Ashley Sheppard?

Ashley Frances Sheppard was a cherished member of Rosamond Gifford Zoo. She was a dedicated wife and a devoted mother. She loved her family and her husband, Town of Geddes Police Officer Michael Andrew Sheppard. The Town of Geddes has also expressed its condolences and paid tribute on its social media handle.

She loved animals and looked after the animals under her care. She was a Collection Manager of Asian Elephants. Her dedication to the animals under her care was commendable. She was a gentle, compassionate soul who cared for the animals to her ability.

She was a loving mother of a two-year-old Jackson John Sheppard. She was not only Michael’s wife but his best friend. Her family was her whole world. She had so much love to give and had touched many lives with her light and kindness. Sadly, her life was cut short by this deadly disease. All those who had the privilege to know her will deeply feel her absence.

A GoFundMe page has been organized.

A GoFundMe page has been organized to help her husband raise their only son as a single parent. The funds will help her husband to continue to provide care for their beloved son while returning to his job. The goal is set at 100,000 dollars.

Over 39,000 dollars have been raised so far. No amount of funds will ever replace that poor child’s mother, but the donations will help them get through this highly emotional and challenging time. We offer our deepest condolences to family and friends. May she rest in peace.
