Brian Best, the news director at Stephens Media Group‘s Froggy 97, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2023. He was a beloved member of the Watertown, New York community.

Froggy 97 confirmed his death news through the Facebook post which stated that:

“JJ from Z93 wrote this. We break the news of the passing of our cherished coworker, News Director Brian Best, with heavy hearts. His family has our deepest condolences at this difficult time.

For many of us, Brian was more than simply a coworker; he was also a close friend. His commitment, expertise, and services to our station were priceless. He will always be remembered as the “Best” News Director in the North Country, and all of us at Z93, WTNY, and FROGGY 97 will miss him dearly.”

In the world of journalism, Brian’s death leaves a vacuum. His commitment to the craft will be sorely missed. Thoughts and Condolences to her family, friends and community in this trying time. Details regarding his funeral and burial have not been announced..

Brian Best, who was from Watertown and was born and reared there, has strong ties to the North Country. He studied for an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Business Administration and Management, General at Jefferson Community College.

His early schooling laid the groundwork for his future career by establishing a strong sense of responsibility for achievement and a strong work ethic.

Best’s achievements, though, went far beyond his time working in broadcast radio. He was a committed member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he first held the position of Senior Patrol Leader before rising to the position of Scoutmaster.

Brian showed his commitment to mentoring and guiding young people by participating in the Boy Scouts, imparting ideals that would help them throughout their lives.

Brian Best was a steadfast pillar of morality and competence in a world where the news is constantly changing. His dedication to telling the truth no matter how difficult it was, raised the bar for journalism. He leaves behind a hole in the broadcasting industry that will be challenging to replace.
