Valdosta, Georgia Shooting Incident: One woman killed in deadly shooting at Flip Flops Bar in Lowndes County.

Brianna Long, a 21-year-old Valdosta State University student was shot and killed in a shooting that happened at Flip Flop Bar in Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, on Saturday. The authorities were called to the scene of the fatal shooting.

What happened to Brianna Long?

She was shot and killed in a deadly shooting incident that happened at the Flip Flops Bar located on Baytree Road, Remerton, Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, around 2:30 a.m. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.

According to the reports, several suspects fired shots outside the bar where Brianna was working as a bartender. One of the suspects fired through the window of the bar that hit Brianna. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

What happened to the suspect?

The suspect, identified as a male in his 20s, fled the scene after the incident. He was later located and arrested for murder charges. The authorities will release further details once they have concluded their investigation. Neither the law enforcement nor the GBI has issued official statements regarding the incident at the moment.

The community mourns Brianna Long

Her tragic, untimely death has cast a somber cloud over the entire Valdosta community. Her peers describe her as a kind, generous, and smart individual. Her sudden, unexpected death has left the community grappling with grief and her loved ones in a deep state of mourning.

One of her best friends, Jordan Billups, a Valdosta State Blazers’ Defensive Back, described her as a loving soul who cared about everyone. He shared his grief with the world in a post on social media that said,

“Wish this was all a dream right now as I’m typing this. Some things you don’t understand, and this one I don’t, but I know God makes no mistakes. One moment of you texting me “good luck” before the game, then the next hearing you aren’t here with us anymore. THIS ONE HURTS! Brianna Long, when we got to Valdosta, you were one of my first friends and became my best friend! You were the most kind, sweet, smart, fun person to be around, and I will always hold the memories we’ve made dear to my heart. I love you forever and always until we meet again.”

Obituary and funeral

Brianna Long’s family will release her obituary and provide her funeral details later. They are currently healing from their grievous loss. We should all respect their mourning and allow them the time to grieve Brianna as much as they need.
