Who was Bryce William Taylor?

Bryce was the owner of ‘Rivah Vineyards at The Grove’. He is one of the youngest Vineyard owners in the country. Bryce’s Family has owned and worked on the Kinsale property in Virginia, locally known as ‘The Grove’, for generations since 1799. It’s 125 acres of land, with 70 acres formable and a home near the Yeocomico River, with a breathtaking view.

Bryce attended a viticulture class at Rappahannock Community College, visited every winery, and learnt the craft of wine-making from the best wine-makers in the region. He started planting grapes for the first time at the age of 19, beginning at two acres.

His hard work and dedication of more than a decade quickly made him the youngest successful Vineyard owner in the region and one of the youngest in the country.
He expanded his business by opening it to the public for events, weddings, parties, and wine-tasting. He gave an interview to a local magazine and said,

“I just want this to be an amazing place for people to enjoy delicious local wine, sit by the Yeocomico in a hammock, play with the dogs and just have a relaxing and amazing time enjoying the vineyard and what I have built,” Taylor said. “This has just gotten in my blood. I never dreamt I’d be doing this at 26, but it was just fate and now I can’t imagine my life any way else.”

He loved the community, and the community loved him. He loved hunting, fishing and making friends. His friend describes him as a fiercely loyal friend who would treat them as Family and could do anything for them. He loved his pet dog and wouldn’t go anywhere without him. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Bryce’s friends wrote heartfelt messages on social media to pay tribute to him and share with the world what a brilliant man the world lost. The community has come together to share the loss and grief, offer condolences and shower the Family with prayers and regards.

I will never forget all the thoughtful messages throughout the years. You always checked in, no matter how long it’s been. The love you poured into your friends and life never went unnoticed. I’ll miss you Bryce.”
