Christopher Bradley, a renowned Declan Nerney & His Band drummer, passed away late Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the M1 Northbound at Mooremont collision. According to reports, the accident happened on the M1 northbound and is being looked into by Gardai.

About the Incident
The incident occurred around two in the morning; a tractor and a car collided on the northbound M1 at Mooremont, County Louth, between Junctions 12 and 14 at around 2 a.m. He was a passenger in the vehicle. Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chris was traveling back home with two other band members, Bob Hunt and Jerome McBride, on Saturday after performing with Declan Nerney at a dance in Tougher’s of Naas in County Kildare on Friday.
At around two in the morning, police were called to the area due to a report of an automobile crash. According to the authorities, a man in his 30s was declared dead from his injuries. Males between the ages of 20 and 60 were identified as the victims.
As police investigated the fatal collision, the northbound lanes of the M1 were closed before Junction 13. Any road users who were traveling on the M1 between Junctions 12 and 14 between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) have been asked to make this available to Garda, according to a statement made by law enforcement agencies following the incident.
Bryan Buckley confirmed his death news through a Facebook post and wrote in their statement:
“It was heartbreaking to learn this morning that Chris tragically passed away on the way home from the concert last night in Naas. Over the past few years, whenever I ran up Chris at shows, he was always eager for a discussion! A great drummer and a true gentleman who was tragically gone too soon.
Today, everyone connected to Irish country music is filled with deep sadness. At this sorrowful time, please accept my condolences to his wife, kids, family, Declan Nerney, and other band members & musicians. We wish Bob and Jerome a quick recovery. The band Declan Nerney.”
Chris was a Desertmartin native. He was a proud and devoted father of two and was married to his lifelong love, Gabrielle Bradley. His untimely demise mourns the community and his loved ones in shock and grief.
Declan Nerney, a well-known Irish singer-songwriter, adored Chris Bradley as his drummer. Declan admitted that he was finding it difficult to accept the most recent tragedy in an interview with the Sunday World yesterday. He said, “I heard the news this morning, and I’m trying to understand why it might happen again.”
