Easton D. Wilsey, 9-year-old Boy Died in a Train Accident at Royal, Illinois

Royal,  Illinois – A 9-year-old boy, Easton D. Wilsey, died on Friday at 7.45 a.m. He was riding a bicycle to school and suffered traumatic injuries. The incident happened near East Main and North Railroad Streets.

Champaign country deputies arrived along with other nearby agencies. An autopsy is not supposed to be conducted, but the inquiry proceeds to find the proper details. The community of Royal has been deeply shaken by this accident and is standing in support of his family.

Easton was popular for possessing a vibrant personality, leaving behind grieving family, friends, and neighbors. “I have lowered the flag at half staff today, due to a horrific accident in Royal. A 9 year old boy was struck by a train while riding his bike to school. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the boy, as well to the first responders and the people that witnessed this tragedy. “
