Investigation Underway as Student Death Sends Waves of Grief Through University Community.
Big Rapids, Michigan – Ferris State University was struck by a tragedy when a student committed suicide at the campus on September 5. It has been shared on social media that the incident occurred on Travis Hall’s first floor. The student’s identity is not disclosed at the time of this publication.
There has been great shock and mourning throughout the campus, and people are discussing the significance of student counselling and mental health aid. Per the Mecosta County Examiner, he was a newbie from Traverse City.
Such incidents shed light on the need to reach out for help when dealing with internal struggles. Many people do not express their problems and take their own lives. It’s more common among students, and this matter needs immediate attention.
Investigations are being carried out to find out what led to such a tragic passing of the student. The whereabouts of students are still not made known to the public. Ferris State University has been in the news previously for such unfortunate deaths.
The police have reported that there has been no evidence of a shooting or any other danger. No one has surety of the exact reason that led to this alleged suicide. Parents of other students are worried and waiting for updates on the actual happening at the university. Everyone sympathises with the student’s family and is praying for the departed soul.
No matter how much care is taken or emergency measures are provided in time; it gets difficult to control such on-campus suicide incidences. There is a need for community awareness programs on mental health to facilitate victims before any tragedy occurs. We can only pray and hope that the student’s family and loved ones find peace in these challenging times.
