According to an email sent out to university community members, a University of Dayton student passed away in an accident.

In a recent email to the university community, it was conveyed that a University of Dayton student, Flynn MacKrell, tragically lost his life in a car accident at Grosse Pointe on November 17, 2023.
Details about the vehicle collision remain undisclosed at this time. Lily Mackrell, Flynn’s sister, also shared the sad news on Facebook, expressing her feelings:
“Sweet Flynn – What an honor it has been to be your big sister for the past 18 years. What a privilege it will be to have you watch over us for the rest of our lives. You were undoubtedly the best of us. I love you forever, little man.”
To commemorate Flynn’s life, the university will host a memorial service on Monday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. The service will take place in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception and will be live-streamed on the Campus Ministry’s YouTube account for those who cannot attend.
The university community is mourning the untimely loss of one of its members, casting a somber mood over the institution. Flynn was deeply cherished by his loved ones, and his absence will be keenly felt.
