A blazing car crash claims the lives of two young women near Staten Island Expressway

A car crashed on Staten Island Expressway near Exit 14 at 11 pm on Sunday, 2 September, claiming the lives of two young women, Gabriella Shammas and Jianna Pischetola.
According to the sources, Jianna Pischetola was driving the car, and Shammas was in the passenger seat. Both of the women were pronounced dead at the scene.
What happened to Gabriella Shammas?
The two young women were travelling in Jianna Pischetola’s Chevrolet Corvette on the Staten Island Expressway eastbound near the Hylan Boulevard/Clove Road Exit when they lost control of the car, and it steered into the guardrail. Which caused the vehicle to flip over and it ran into a pickup truck. The car immediately caught fire, which caused an explosion.
According to the sources, Pischetola was killed in the wreckage, while Shammas died after she was ejected from the vehicle.
An investigation is underway to learn more about the circumstances that may have led to the accident.

She was 22 years old.

Meanwhile, to help Gabriella Shammas’s family cover the cost of the funeral, Sam Picardi has made a GoFundme page on Shammas’s mother’s behalf. Though the target was to raise 50,000 dollars, the page has raised over 64,000 dollars in less than 10 hours to help the family.
They announced the passing of their daughter and requested everyone to help them honour her memory with the dignity and grace she deserves. Gabriella was a sweet young woman with all her life ahead of her to shine her bright light of kindness on everyone she met when it was cut short by a fatal accident. The page said,
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, Gabriella Shammas. At just 22 years old, Gabriella’s radiant spirit was taken from us far too soon. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and we are coming together to honour her beautiful soul.
Gabriella had an unparalleled ability to light up any room she entered. Gabriella infectious smile and boundless energy could turn even the darkest days into moments of joy. She had a heart that was as big as her smile, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion were a testament to the remarkable person she was.”
