A five-year-old, Henry Carl Fonnesbeck, tragically died while playing in his backyard on October 7, 2023. He was a resident of Idaho Falls. His family has not revealed the specifics of the event that claimed his life; therefore, the circumstances surrounding his loss are still a mystery.

His family wrote in their wood funeral home’s statement, “Henry was simply playing in his backyard while “doing work,” as he was fondly remembered by his loved ones when the sad incident occurred.”
Henry’s sudden demise left the community and his loved ones in deep sorrow and grief. Our Thoughts and Condolences go out to his family and community in this devastating time.
About Henry Fonnesbeck
Henry was born on June 21, 2018, in Idaho Falls and was five years old at the time of his death. He attended Sunnyside Elementary School, where he loved his teachers and his time with his kindergarten friends.
According to his family’s statement, Henry was well renowned for his inventiveness; he loved building things out of LEGO sets, pretend play campfires, and even forts in the woods. Constructing tall buildings out of magnet tiles in his classroom was one of his favourite activities.
Henry enjoyed attending primary school and school at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He joyfully learned about Jesus and joined his primary friends in singing. He also had a remarkable gift for encouraging his family to adopt a more Christlike lifestyle, displaying his compassionate and loving personality.
Henry had some foods that he particularly enjoyed. He loved fruit snacks, savoured the sweet treat of snow cones, and had a soft place for Jimmy John’s sandwiches. Henry made everyone around him happy with his positive attitude and love of life.
Funeral Details
His parents, Travis and Emily Fonnesbeck, his brothers, Brenner, Clark, and James Fonnesbeck, and his grandparents survive him.
Bishop Jordan Hillam will preside over the funeral services on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylor Mountain Stake Center, 260 Castlerock Lane.
The family will have friend gatherings at the church on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. before services. The burial will take place in Mountain View Cemetery Eden, Utah, where the little boy will laid to rest. Prayers for him and the family.
