Hugh Douglas and Christion Files Jr., Students of Morehouse College, Did in Car Accident

Hugh Douglas and Christion Files Jr., two students of Morehouse College Georgia, passed away in a terrible car accident. The incident happened on Labor Day; both students were 25 years old at their death.

Georgia State Patrol stated that the collision occurred at Church Street and Linwood Avenue in East Point at around 5 PM. According to the police, Christion Files’ was driving the car, and his vehicle exited the road while trying to pass another vehicle quickly in the curve.

Files’ car crashed into two power poles and turned over. Douglas and Files both passed away at the site. Georgia Police are looking forward to further details.

Their death news was announced by Morehouse College‘s on September 05, 2023, through its official Facebook page, which stated:

“Hugh Douglas ’25 and Christion Files Jr. ’25, who were tragically killed in an automobile accident on Monday afternoon, are mourned by the Morehouse community. We in the Morehouse family are devastated by the loss of Hugh and Christion, who were not only friends but also roommates during their sophomore year.

Our community that assistance is available for those in need after this awful loss. Calling (470) 639-0231 will allow students for counseling. The basement level of Brazeal House houses the Student Mental Health Center. We must unite as a community during these trying times to remember and honor the lives of Hugh and Christion. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this extraordinarily trying time.”

Their sudden death shocked his family and Morehouse College. Douglas and Files’ funeral and burial details have not been public yet. Our thoughts and condolences to his family, friends, and Morehouse community in this difficult time.

Who was Hugh Douglas and Christion Files Jr.?

Douglas and Files Jr. were best friends and roommates, majoring in business administration with a focus on marketing and finance, respectively. They belonged to the Morehouse Business Association as well.

Hugh Douglas, son of Hugh Douglas former NFL defensive end. Hewas an extraordinary student who showed great promise in pursuing a degree in business administration with a focus on finance.

He committed to becoming the best in his area by being a member of the Morehouse Business Association, an AltFinance Fellow, and a Goldman Sachs Fellow. Douglas interned for Ares Management Corporation in Los Angeles over the summer.

Christion Files Jr. was an exceptional student in his studies and extracurricular activities. He had majored in business administration with a focus on marketing. His responsibilities as the Morehouse Track & Field team’s co-captain, the media chair for the Junior Class Council, and an active participant in the Morehouse Business Association all showed his leadership abilities.

In addition to these accomplishments, Christion was well-known for his abilities in photography and videography, which he applied to produce top-notch content for students, campus organizations, Morehouse Athletics, and the College’s marketing department.

They leave an outstanding, passionate, and committed legacy that will continue motivating us all. Many of their friends and mates send sympathies on social media. Prayers for them, Rest in Peace, Douglas and Files.
