Isabella M. Todaro tragically passed away on Saturday morning in a devastating car accident on October 7, 2023. The tight-knit community of Hackettstown is grieving the untimely loss of a 17-year-old teenager.
The vehicle collided with a utility pole, resulting in significant damage and a 17-year-old female driver from Hackettstown,
identified as Isabella Todaro, was pronounced dead at the scene.”
As the investigation continues, no further information has been released publicly. She was a student at Hackettstown Public School. In response to the tragic incident, Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio issued a heartfelt statement;
“I write about the passing of one of Hackettstown’s own cherished children with a heavy heart. Isabella Todaro, a senior at Hackettstown High School, lost her life in a tragic car accident early on Saturday morning, according to a statement provided to WRNJ.”
He added, “When the District reopens on Tuesday, we will continue supporting affected staff and students and offering assistance.
Isabella was described as a lovely, joyful, outgoing young lady who deeply cherished her family and friends. She was a senior at Hackettstown High School and was passionate about spending time with her friends, shopping, and attending Tigers football games. She was also employed at Heath Village and Stella G’s in Hackettstown, where she shared her warmth and kindness. Her friends and family meant the world to her.
During this challenging time, the community offers their thoughts and condolences to Isabella’s family, friends, and school community.
Debra Grigoletti, the superintendent of Hackettstown Public School District stated that, The high school will be available to assist anyone in the community in need from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9. Enter through the New Gym door.
The Todaro family has invited all family members, friends, coworkers, classmates, and anyone who wishes to participate in a candlelight vigil on Tuesday, October 10, at 6:00 p.m. This vigil will be held in the open space next to Hatchery Hill School on Reese Avenue in Hackettstown, where the Spring Festival occurs. The community is encouraged to join in remembering Isabella during this Candlelight Vigil.
Isabella’s funeral services and last rites have been announced on social media; on Wednesday, October 11, Isabella M. Todaro’s visitation will occur from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street, in Hackettstown. Following the visitation, a memorial service honouring Isabella’s life will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
Isabella is survived by her devoted parents, Lisa Ann and Louis Todaro; her sister, Ashley Lipinski and her husband, Christopher; her twin brother, Louis E. Todaro; and her nephew, Owen Lipinski. Her obituary also mentions numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral preparations are being handled by the Maguire-Scala Memorial Home in Hackettstown, located at 124 High Street.

“We request your support during this challenging time for the Todaro family, their friends, and loved ones. On October 7, 2023, a tragic car accident claimed the life of 17-year-old Isabella. As a community, we are extending a helping hand to the family to ease their financial burden. Isabella had a promising future as a senior at Hackettstown High School.
She dedicated herself to her studies and cherished her relationships with her family, friends, and twin brother, Louis. Her infectious laugh and piercing blue eyes will remain in our memories forever. Those who knew her will miss her deeply. In advance, we appreciate your support. This will give her family the assistance they need to cope with this tragedy.”
The campaign initially aimed to collect $50,000 and has already reached $48,392 in contributions. However, donations are still welcomed from anyone who wishes to support the family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the young girl. Isabella Todaro, rest in peace.
