Josh Katz, a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023. The cause of his passing is unknown yet. Josh was a husband and a father of three.
Josh was a cherished member of society; his untimely demise left his family and loved ones in loss and grief. Camps Reeta, Arthur and Beker announced his death news through a Facebook post and wrote in their statement that:
“I regret to inform you of Josh Katz’s passing earlier this afternoon. He was a father of three and a husband. I had the good fortune to serve as Josh’s counselor in 1995 after serving as his CIT in 1993. He seemed like a nice, kind, amusing, and pleasant guy to me. He developed into a true man. I’m very sorry for the entire Katz family. I hope Josh’s legacy brings blessings.”
Josh Katz graduated from UNCA with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an emphasis in mathematics. His work as a medical synthetic chemistry undergraduate researcher has been approved for publication in the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Journal of Undergraduate Research.
After receiving his honors in chemistry, Katz was named a research scholar by the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA). Josh Katz started taking my side project of writing JavaScript code much more seriously around the beginning of 2020.
He was able to educate himself in other programming languages by signing up for classes on Coursera and Udemy and spending many hours reading the documentation of different frameworks and libraries, like SQL, Python, and TypeScript.
Josh was at Arthur-Reeta from before he was old enough to be a camper until he was 14, and the camp closed after the summer of ’95. Josh’s father was a well-liked regular at Arthur-Reeta, his mother worked as a camp nurse, and his three younger sisters were all campers.
Bob Katz also shared a statement on Josh’s demise and shared his memorial services through a Facebook post:
“It is with great sadness and a shattered heart that I announce the death of my dear nephew, Josh Katz. Josh was a wonderful father, devoted spouse, caring family member, and dependable friend. His personality absolutely lighted up any room, and he constantly made everyone laugh. It was undeniable that everyone who met him adored him.”
He also wrote that Josh was an obviously wonderful person, and it was an honour to know and love him. We will continue to memorialize him in any way we can; he will be greatly missed.
Bob announced his memorial services in the following statement: Josh’s memorial services will held on Thursday, October 26 at 3 p.m. and stated to DM him for further queries, services, and Shiva addresses. Thoughts and Condolences to his family, friends and community. Prayers for him; Rest in Peace, Josh Katz.
