According to the Painesville Police, he was shot in the left arm twice by his wife, Kayleigh Hustosky, in the couple’s home in Painesville, Ohio. Police chief Daniel Waterman addressed a press conference and explained the incident that shocked the Painesville community.

According to him, the Police responded to a 911 call by Dylan Hustosky at about 4:15 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, and told the Police his wife shot him through the door. He said the officers had never been called to the couple’s house for any domestic violence issue. There had been no report of any problems between them, and they were not in the Police’s system.

His wife shot him twice in his left arm at their home in the 100 block of Cedarbrook Drive. The couple married for two and a half years during the incident.

Gates Mills Chief Greg Minichello said Daylan, who was 27 then, had been a member of the Department’s patrol unit and was associated with the police force since 2014. He had been a dedicated police officer, and the Department had no issues with him in his four-year service.

Injured, Dylan ran away from home to save his life. He was found close to the driveway of Heritage Middle School, across the street from his house. The Police called the rescue squad. He was taken to TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township and later transferred to MetraHealth Medical Center. He underwent surgery for his injuries.
