Fatal crash claims the life of a young mother in Marshall County.

Madison Grace Linley, a 29-year-old mother of one, passed away in a fatal car crash on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Marshal County, Mississippi.

What happened to Madison Linley?

She died in an accident in Marshal County. She was traveling with her partner, David Sparks, in a 2015 GMC Equinox eastbound on Interstate 22 in Marshall County when it collided with a 1992 GMC van parked on the eastbound shoulder of the interstate.

29-year-old Madison was in the passenger seat in GMC Equinox and died from her injuries in the accident. The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the crash just before 5:15 am. The officials said that the driver of GMC Equinox, Madison’s partner David Sparks, was not injured. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash to learn more about the circumstances that led to the accident.

Who was Madison Linley?

Madison was born on June 2, 1994, in Starkville, Mississippi, to Johnny Linley Jr. and June Michelle Criddle Linley. She was a mother of a beautiful son, Elliot, who was her whole world. She was in a relationship with David Sparks.

She was a cosmetologist at Strut. She graduated from Houston High School. She furthered her education at Vaughn’s Beauty College. She was well-known for her skills in cosmetology in her community.
Her peers describe her as a vibrant, lively young woman. She had an infectious smile that could light up any room. She loved music and singing ever since she was young and used to make up her songs. She had the voice of an angel.

She loved nature, water, and the outdoors. Madison had her quirks, and everyone loved that about her. She had a big personality, and everyone who had the privilege to know her loved her. She was a kind, generous soul, full of love and joy. Sadly, her untimely passing has left everyone in shock and aggrieved.

Obituary and funeral

Memorial Funeral Home of Houston released her obituary. The visitation will be held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston, followed by Memorial service at 2:00 pm the same day.


The Houston Community mourns the loss of such a beautiful soul, stolen away by death well before her time. In this grievous time, the community has outpoured support for friends and family. The friends have shared their fondest memories of her and paid their respects in a heartfelt note on social media.

Ashton Elizabeth Moss wrote,

“Madison always poured more into this world than I think she ever received. I was so proud seeing what a good mother she was and how she was excelling in her career. She was the friend that would tell you if your eyebrows were lopsided, but in the same breath would tell you your worth. She called me Ashy, and it drove me nuts, but I never stopped her. She’s gonna be so missed.”

Laura Griffin wrote,

“So heartbreaking! I can’t imagine the pain and loss Johnny and June are living or confusion or loss that precious little boy is going through. Praying for peace and comfort for the whole family.”
