Marcus Dohring, the renowned 501st Legion member and legendary Star Wars Nerd, went missing on Wednesday night, August 30, 2023.
A few hours after publishing a troubling post on his social media account, he went missing and was found dead. The post appears that he was going through personal issues and had committed suicide.
Lisa Turville, one of Marcus’ friends, posted his missing news on her Facebook account on Wednesday:
“Hello to Everyone. Marcus Dohring, a friend of mine, is reported missing in the Nashville region. He’s going through a personal problem right now. Please ask him to contact his family if anyone in the neighborhood sees him or contacts him.”
Lisa then updated her post on Thursday while releasing Markus’s death news and wrote:
“It is with great sadness that we report Marcus Dohring’s discovery. Sadly, it is the result that we had all hoped for. Contact the appropriate authorities to try to get help for anyone you know who is depressed or anxious, or if you even have the slightest suspicion that they would injure themselves. Marcus, RIP.”
Condolences and sympathies to his family, friends and relatives. His funeral services have not been released publicly.

Marcus Dohring, a resident of Franklin, Tennessee, is well-known for his Costume Resources. He attended Castro Valley High School and the University of Maryland Global Campus. Markus had a wife and was also the father of his two sons.
Marcus was the 501st Legion’s officer in charge of public relations. Additionally, he was employed by V. Alexander & Co. The German man from Berlin died from a self-inflicted wound after a protracted battle with melancholy and anxiety.
Marcus’ friend, Matthew Pak also wrote about his death and shared Markus’ last post on his Facebook:
“Marcus Dohring wrote a troubling message this afternoon and then vanished. My Facebook page was filled with condolence messages when I checked up late tonight. Suicide is a terrible tragedy that claims numerous lives. My deepest sympathies to his family.”
Many of his friends are sending condolences by posting his images on social media sites. His legacy will always remain in the hearts of his loved ones. Prayers for Marcus; Rest in Peace, young man.
