Matteo Sachman, a 29-year-old Georgetown University student, was critically injured in a shocking stabbing incident that unfolded at the Bronx subway station in New York on New Year. Matteo was a Manhattan Collegiate School alumnus and was expected to graduate from Georgetown University in 2027.

What happened to Matteo Sachman?

Matteo Sachman was attacked with a sharp object at a subway station in New York City while he was waiting for the train. Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic, causing panic. The incident happened on New Year at East 182nd Street and Grand Concourse in Fordham Heights. Matteo was attacked on a southbound D train platform.

According to the Police, he was critically injured by an “unknown cutting instrument” around 8:50 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2024. He was rushed to the St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, where he remained fighting for his life Tuesday morning.

According to several news outlets, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. His immediate family and close relatives have not shared the news on any social media platforms. The police have not released any information regarding this matter as well.
