Miguel ‘Mig’ Ernest Poirier, a 22-year-old young Moncton, Canada, man and former athlete, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, leaving friends and family aggrieved and community grappling with shock and sadness.

Born in Moncton, Canada, he was the son of Jean-Marc and Charlie Gray Poirier. He was known for his kindness and immense gentleness, creating a safe space for everyone around him despite the intense, competitive environment of the athletic world. He had an infectious smile and a natural talent for winning the hearts of everyone he met with his warm personality. He was a generous individual committed to making a positive impact in the world and touched many lives in his short life.
Obituary and Funeral
The Millet Funeral Home, Boutouche, published his obituary on their website. The visitations will be held at Saint-Antoine 1’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will occur at Saint-Antoine Church on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. In Miguel’s memory, the family has requested donations be made to the homeless people.
