What happened to Velimir Lucic?

Velimir Lucic and his wife, Valentina Lucic, were involved in an incident that claimed Velimir’s life and left Valentina critically injured. She is hospitalized, fighting for her life. Ohio Military Reserve’s COL Deano McNeil announced the sad news in a post on their social media. The post read,

“Valentina Lucic, 1BN S1, is hospitalized, and her husband, former OHMR Soldier SGT Velimir Lucic, has died in an incident early New Year’s Day.”
He also appealed to everyone to contribute to the fundraiser established to assist his family during this challenging time.

According to a GoFundMe page established by his daughter Michelle, Velimir passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Her mother, Valentina, is in critical condition at the hospital and is expected to stay in the hospital for several months. The family needs the support of the community as they have no means of income. The goal is set at 70,000 dollars. The funds will help the family cover the cost of several surgeries and medical expenses for both of her parents and the funeral arrangements of her father, Velimir. We request that all donate to the fundraiser and help the family during this incredibly challenging time.

Who was Velimir Lucic?

Velimir Lucic was a former soldier in the Ohio Military Reserve. He was the owner of TOMO Sushi & Hibachi Restaurant. He also ran for Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, in 2017.
