Who is Moe Cason?
Moe Cason is a professional barbeque expert and chef. He has competed in many prestigious competition reality TV shows and proved himself by winning numerous competitions against notable barbeque experts since 2006. He appeared on BBQ Pitmasters regularly from 2009 to 2018.
He is an ex-Marine who had served with the United States Navy, employed by US Missouri and US Navy. After his career with the Navy ended in 2005, Moe pursued his calling in Barbeque, leading him to compete and win in Barbeque competitions. He has established Ponderosa Barbeque in Des Moines. He also has been a contestant and a judge on Destination America’s Pitmasters and BBQ Pit Wars. He was also a judge on ‘SMOKED,’ aired in June 2016.
Moe has authored a 240-page recipe book consisting of 75 of his family-favorite recipes named “Big Moe’s Big Book of BBQ: 75 Recipes from Brisket and Ribs to Cornbread and Macand Cheese.” Our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.
