The Filipina-American community mourns its cherished member, Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias.
Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias, a Filipina-American TV producer, TV/radio host, event producer, entrepreneur, and marketing executive, died unexpectedly. She was 43 years old. Her tragic death was confirmed with messages her friends posted on her timeline, mourning the late entrepreneur. Joel Atienza Cordero wrote,
“Rest in paradise #RoslynnCobarrubias Maraming Salamat (Thank you very much) for all you did for our Filipino community, Nikikiramay po(my condolences).”
Who was Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias?
Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias, aka DJ Roslynn and DJ Rose, was a Filipina-American TV producer, TV/radio host, author, speaker, entrepreneur, event producer, and marketing executive. She co-founded the global talent discovery video platform mydiveo, obtained by Engage: BDR for 7.4 million dollars in 2016. She also founded the B-Girl clothing line and boutique agency, the Third Floor Network, and the video production company ROS. Marketing Agency.
She hosted several international events, including the 2010 Grammys red carpet live stream. She produced over 500 offline events and editorial programs with notable artists like Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay-Z and brands like Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, AT&T, Disney & Budweiser. She also helped many small businesses, non-profit organizations, and media companies to expand with her unique marketing strategies.
In 2009, she was named 1 of Billboard Magazine’s Top 30 Music Industry Professionals under 30 and featured again in 2011, co-producing a concert for Adweek 2011. She has been a speaker at prestigious platforms such as TEDx, SXSW and, Billboard Music Conference, and Urban Network alongside colleges like UCLA, LA Film School & Cal State LA.
